Braiins Toolbox 26.09 adds automatic refreshing of the device list, alongside device-list and command-line fixes.

New

  • Auto Refresh: a toggle on the Device List header keeps already-discovered devices up to date on its own. Pick the interval — 30 seconds to 1 hour — in Device Management > IP Address Ranges > Advanced Options. It re-runs the same work as "Refresh Data" (it re-probes known devices, it does not rescan the network), and the countdown to the next refresh starts only once the current one has finished, so refreshes never overlap or stack.

Improvements

  • CLI: update, advanced set and advanced reset now accept -y/--yes to skip the confirmation prompt.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed the device list showing a device count but no rows when a search or a filter narrowed the results while you were on a later page.
  • Fixed Toolbox hanging at 100% CPU when a confirmation prompt appeared without an interactive terminal — for example when run from a script or with stdin redirected. It now prints a clear message and aborts; use -y/--yes to run it non-interactively.

Braiins Toolbox 26.08.1 is a bugfix release addressing a GUI crash when acting on a large number of selected miners, a CLI panic during narrow-range scans, and a macOS self-update failure.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a GUI error ("Cannot convert [object Set] to a BigInt") when using "Select all" on a large, filtered device list, which blocked bulk actions like Advanced Settings, Run a Command, and installing Braiins OS.
  • Fixed a CLI panic when scanning a narrow IP range.
  • Fixed a macOS self-update failure ("Permission denied") that could leave the GUI stuck at 100% or fail in the CLI when the installed app was owned by another user (e.g. an MDM-deployed install). The updater now asks for admin privileges to replace the app if needed.

Braiins Toolbox Release 26.08 brings a reworked Toolbox architecture for a more efficient GUI, native Apple Silicon support, and expanded miner compatibility.

GUI

  • Faster, smarter device list: filtering, sorting, and search now run on the backend and stream live, so working with more devices will be more responsive.
  • Scans can now be cancelled mid-way and no longer collide with an action you're already running on the same devices.
  • Toolbox now reliably runs as a single window by default — opening a second window shows a notice instead of starting a duplicate instance.

CLI & GUI

  • New miner support: Auradine Teraflux and MARA FW (Kaonsu) miners can now be discovered, monitored, and controlled.
  • Native Apple Silicon build: Toolbox for macOS is now a native Apple Silicon (M-series) app.
  • Fixed: a valid custom BOS+ contract key could be wrongly rejected as invalid; Toolbox now checks and explains contract key problems before running the action.

Under the hood

Toolbox's device list now runs on a rebuilt backend: instead of a perpetual background scan feeding the GUI, the server holds a persistent view of your fleet and streams filtered, sorted, paginated results live. This is what makes the device list responsive at scale and is the foundation several of the improvements above build on.

IMPORTANT! This release ends macOS x86_64 builds in favor of a native Apple Silicon (aarch64) build. If you're upgrading an existing macOS installation, Toolbox's in-app updater cannot detect this release for you — please download the new Apple Silicon build manually.

GUI

  • Configure BOS advanced settings - new action in the menu. It opens modal window where you can configure all available settings.
  • Disallow opening Toolbox in multiple browser tabs - this behaviour was previously supported, but it was not intended. It was a by-product of choosen tech stack. It complicates overall software architecture, and as far as we know, no one was using it anyway. This decision might change in the future.

Braiins Toolbox Release 26.05 brings several miner improvements to provide a better user experience.

CLI

  • Per-IP result output: Toolbox now prints results broken out per device IP, making it easier to triage which miners succeeded or failed in a batch operation.

CLI & GUI

  • Fixed cooling config where config was just saved, but not applied.
  • Clearer "invalid credentials" handling: when Antminer or BOS+ rejects the credentials Toolbox is using, the GUI now surfaces this as a distinct error instead of a generic failure.
  • Improved miner detection: Antminer API variant detection now falls back to firmware version when the primary detection path is inconclusive — fewer "unknown variant" results during scans.
  • Refreshed frontend: two GUI/frontend bumps with bug fixes and UX improvements.
  • Safer Antminer configuration changes: pool, work-mode, frequency-level, and fan setting updates now read and write the full miner configuration as a single transaction, instead of patching individual fields. This removes a class of edge cases where partial updates could leave the miner in an inconsistent state.
  • Clearer compatibility messages: messaging shown when a miner is unsupported or ineligible for an operation has been reworked end-to-end across CLI, GUI, and the underlying control libraries.
  • More reliable BOS+ cooling config: saving cooling configuration on Braiins OS now uses an atomic save-and-apply.
  • Antminer responses with a stray ,"id":1} suffix from cgminer are now parsed correctly.
  • Empty get_miner_conf responses are handled cleanly instead of erroring.
  • WhatsMiner chip_vol_diff now correctly handles negative values.

  • Added a new --fan-pause-runtime option to the braiins-toolbox cooling set command, allowing configuration of fan behavior on Braiins OS when a miner is paused. This option is supported on Braiins OS versions 26.01 and newer.

  • Introduced beta support for the Antminer S23 series running stock firmware.
  • Optimized Braiins OS installation process to make deployments faster and reduce the overall failure rate.
  • Fixed communication issues with Antminers on stock firmware version from September 2025 and newer.
  • Updated the Stratum V2 configuration to support a Stratum V2 pool URL using the new secp256k1 authorization public key.

Braiins Toolbox Release 25.03 introduces support for Avalon miners, a new DPS mode option, and more.

CLI & GUI

  • Toolbox now offers beta support for Avalon miners. In addition, you can manage these devices with actions such as pause, resume, reboot, and change pool settings.
  • Toolbox now supports the new DPS boost mode introduced in Braiins OS version 25.01. Learn more about this power mode enhancement in the Braiins OS release notes for 25.01.
  • The pool username variables now include {{miner.ip_x}}, representing the miner’s IP address with a custom “x” separator instead of a dot.
  • Resolved an issue where BOS upgrades could fail due to insufficient disk space on miners.

GUI

  • CSV export functionality now respects filtering, sorting, column visibility, and order. Note: Only static data can be exported.
  • Fixed the incorrect sorting of the Target column.

  • Optimized Braiins OS upgrades to prevent failures caused by full disk space on the miner.

  • Users can now control Toolbox entirely via keyboard shortcuts, enabling miner selection, quick access to all actions and configurations, and simplified navigation without the need for a mouse or touchpad.

  • Custom Contract Codes - Users can now easily apply their custom contract codes both during and after the installation of BOS+ in GUI and CLI.
  • Public IP Filtering - Automatically exclude all public IPs from defined ranges to enhance security and scanning speed.

GUI

  • Enhanced Installation - Configure Braiins OS+ during the initial setup to start mining immediately. This includes selecting the specific release, applying custom contract codes, configuring the pool, and adjusting power and cooling settings.
  • Disabling IP Ranges - Temporarily disable specific IP ranges without deleting them.

CLI

  • Bypass Confirmation Dialog - New -y or --yes flag allows users to bypass confirmation dialogs, facilitating smoother operations for scripting.
